Hi! My name is Emily (you can call me Em) and I'm a Business Administration major with a double emphasis in Marketing and Organization & Management, and minor in Informatics at the University of California, Irvine.
Outside of work and school, I love watching movies and shows, creating lists, updating my Google Calendar, picnicking, and running!
As an aspiring product manager, I view the world through a user-centric lens. I evaluate everyday products and consider ways to improve and innovate these products. This mindset drives me to constantly seek out innovative solutions for the minor inconveniences in life to challenges affecting populations across the world.
About Me
Learning on the Job
In July 2022, I joined Peacock's Demand Generation team as a Growth Levers, Project Coordinator.
As a Project Coordinator, I assist and monitor the planning and execution of projects that increase awareness and demand for our product. On the Demand Generation team, we learn about user groups and understand their behavior to drive more effective and impactful marketing efforts that will drive acquisition, increase engagement on the platform, and improve customer retention.
During the Fall 2021 term, I joined the Universal Brand Development team at NBCUniversal as a part-time Product Development & Creative Support Intern.
I enjoyed learning more about the Media & Technology industry and had opportunities to apply my technical skills in data analysis to support the team and improve their internal workflow processes. One of my favorite projects I worked on involved using SQL and Microsoft Excel to conduct a system account audit consisting 3,000+ users and comparing them against 1,000+ contracts.
During the summer of 2021, I interned with Western Digital, specifically SanDisk Professional—formerly known as G-Technology—as a Product Manager Intern.
In this role, I learned about the skills and responsibilities required to become a successful product manager. One of my favorite experiences was learning about competitive analysis from a product scope to identify user dissatisfaction in hardware specifications and factors that may affect consumer purchasing decisions.
Keep.id is a non-profit based in Philadelphia, PA providing secure, cloud identification storage for people experiencing homelessness to easily access necessary resources.
As a Product Manager from Fall 2020 to Winter 2021, I structured and implemented beta testing and identified KPIs to measure our platform's progress. This role challenged me to understand new user groups: non-profits, who host our platform and the homeless population, who use our platform to access a cloud-based copy of their physical identification to better access resources.
Kyte is a startup based in San Francisco, CA delivering the most convenient car rental experience to metropolitan residents.
As a Customer Experience & Operations Intern during Fall 2020, I was a first responder to customers and Surfers: resolving technical difficulties, scheduling and updating bookings, identifying operational issues, and more. These interactions were an opportunity to gather feedback on our product for the Kyte Team. By collecting quantitative and qualitative feedback, I was able to assist the Product team in more effectively prioritizing technical issues for sprints.
During my Summer 2020 internship at Cisco, I worked remotely with 2 teams in the Go-to-Market Strategy & Operations department supporting Sales, Marketing, and Partner Ecosystems.
On the Global Sales Services team, I researched emerging use cases for Cisco services amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, components of successful world class sales organizations, and recurring revenue models in competing B2B technology companies. On the Customer Sales & Engagement Team, I learned about the inner-workings and importance of corporate and international relations.
The Master's of Computer Science and Master's of Software Engineering Programs are two professional master's programs in the UCI Donald Bren School of Information & Computer Science.
As a Student Assistant from October 2019 to June 2020, I assisted with clerical duties such as organizing career resources and researching and posting relevant job listings to help 150+ graduate students find internships and full-time jobs. I had opportunities for more hands-on work by assisting the Career Development Managers to host workshops and career development events.

Passion Projects
To become a better ally, I wanted to be more educated and informed regarding the Black Lives Matter movement and the history of racial injustices in American culture, society, and government. I compiled these resources to gain a more well-rounded understanding of the social movement and to invoke conversations with peers, friends, and family. I would love to continue learning and discussing more to keep this conversation and movement alive.
Having always had a joy for reading and writing, I was delighted to find The Mentorship Project as an outlet to give back to young students undergoing the college admissions process and promoting higher education while still doing something I really enjoy. Through this organization, I've met 3 bright, young high school seniors with whom I've had the honor of getting to know and celebrating admissions results with!
Much like The Mentorship Project, I discovered Town Cats of Morgan Hill, an animal welfare non-profit, because of my desire to apply my hobby towards more meaningful causes. I volunteered as a photographer to promote the adoption of feral and stray cats in Santa Clara County by showcasing cats available for adoption. After the pandemic, I hope to continue working with this non-profit whenever I'm back in the Bay Area. (Great bonus: I love animals and enjoyed every visit I made to take photographs of these adorable cats!)
My experiences with Opening Doors 2020, a poverty alleviation non-profit based in San Jose, CA, have been a humbling reminder to understand and address the needs of underserved members of my community who live not 20 minutes away from my own neighborhood. While I have the chance to apply some technical skills to my role, I also interact directly with these communities to better understand the needs of low-income seniors and families.
